I am in first year MBA course @ NITIE, powai. 99 % of my thoughts now revolve around my activities in NITIE and it is the biggest influence in my life currently..for proof you can check my receding hairline :)
Getting into itself was an emotional roller coaster..first a disappointing CAT exam followed by a surprisingly high score followed by rejection from some desired institutions until smmoth sailing into NITIE.
Junta like me who took a sabbatical from the throbbing IT industry will always wonder @ the back of the mind, if they are missing out. As time goes, the acceptability of the decision increases.
First semester was a breeze, didnt get along with few seniors and heavily disagreed with some of their philosophy and still do!
As has been the case, took lot of time to adjust in the new environment. Summers came and I got a taste of my "academic acheivements" or more appropiately the lack of it. In NITIE, I have lot of people with excellent academic background and these people deflated my carefully built ego. Exams turned up out of nowhere and I was struggling to scrape through.....!
Havoc and Mayhem as marks started coming through and again another ride of "The magnanimous Emotinal Roller coaster". As dust settled, and lots of focus in mind, I have tried to mend the damage through 2nd and third quarter...
Have had decent success against some of the more academically inclined people and for the moment I do not languish @ the bottom of the heap!
Now I am into my summer internship.... very cheerful in the beginning, however the mood mellowed down as a fellow intern got a windfall of doing his project in Brazil.
The mind says project is project, my proffesionalism doesnt need frills like international locations, the heart meanders for the halo of international assignements.
Moral of the story....: its gonna be one emotional ride!
